Do you know how you will spend your time this August? Maybe the time has come for you to start using and studying Esperanto outside the virtual world! Last year's successful SES ("Slavic Esperanto Study") event has been transformed, and now the organizers have created a new event - "Summer Esperanto Study" (in August, during the Northern Hemisphere's summer). The new SES will take place this year from August 9th - 17th, in Modra-Harmónia, Slovakia, and a large part of that event will be the first large-scale meeting of lernu! users, volunteers, and creators!

The idea of SES is to create a communal summer event that combines Esperanto study with a pleasant vacation and a lot of fun in an international setting. The event is suitable for true beginners, and for intermediate speakers who want to improve their knowledge of the langauge. The team of lernu! has dreamed for a long time of inviting the site's users and volunteers to a large meeting, but until recently, the conditions haven't been right to make it happen. But now, the time has arrived to realize this long-time dream! SES already has an experienced organizational team and a wonderful location perfect for language teaching, easily reachable from three European capitals, and relatively close to the city where the 2008 IJK will take place.

Aside from studying Esperanto in courses at different levels, taught by well-known Esperanto instructors, you'll be able to participate in a diverse afternoon program, attend concerts and dance in the evening, all while using your knowledge of Esperanto in a practical setting. You'll be able to talk to event participants from different countries, meet team members and volunteers from lernu!, learn more about the site, and influence its future development. In addition, you'll be able to go on excursions, spend time in nature, be a tourist, play sports, play at billiards, and much more. The event will take place in a beautiful location beside forests and lakes. Come, and you won't regret it!
