Summer Esperanto Study (in July)

SES-2008 participants
SES-2008 participants

Summer Esperanto Study (SES-2009) will take place from the 10th to the 18th of July 2009.

This year with the second real-life lernu!-gathering! The event takes place in a small Slovakian village Modra-Harmónia, only 30km from the capital Bratislavia and 90km from Vienna.

The program consists of several parts:

  • Morning - Esperanto instruction;
  • Afternoon - excursions, lectures, crafts, sports, work groups, etc.;
  • Evening - national and international cultural evenings, concerts, films, dancing with DJs, ...

Esperanto instruction will be led by experienced Esperanto instructors in 4 or 5 groups, according to language level. At the end of the event, participants will receive certificates about the 26-hour course, using the levels of the new European reference framework for language instruction, from A1 to C1.

The lernu! events were run by the entire core lernu!-team. There were various lectures about lernu.net, about the site's translation system, and a work group about the future of the project. The team members were available for users during the entire week for discussion, questions, and any kind of proposals about the website.

Cofunding of SES-2009 comes from "Ido-Foundation" of Sweden.

Group trip from SES to IJK! SES-2009 will take place the week right before IJK in Liberec, Czech Republic. We plan to make a group trip there. Thus the participants can first improve their Esperanto skills, and immediately afterwards put them to use in one of the most popular traditional youth-oriented Esperanto events. If you are interested in the group trip to IJK, mention it in the registration form.

Photos of Somera Esperanto-Studado are at ipernity.

A short multilingual video report about the event can be viewed at the website of Benio from Ireland, for whom SES was his first Esperanto event.

A bulletin about the event is below.

And here's a detailed program of the event.
