Summer Esperanto Study (in July)

Participants of SES-2009
Participants of SES-2009

Summer Esperanto Study (SES-2010) will take place from July 2-10, 2010.

The third lernu! meeting will take place in the western Slovak spa town of Piešťany, situated 80 km away from the Slovak capital of Bratislava and 160 km from Vienna, capital of Austria.

The program consists of several parts:

  • Morning - Esperanto language instruction;
  • Afternoon - excursions, lectures, crafts, sports, work groups, etc.;
  • Evening - national and international cultural evenings, concerts, films, dancing with DJs, ...

Esperanto teaching will be conducted by experienced Esperanto teachers; students will be divided into 4 groups, according to language level.

The lernu! programming will be organized by the lernu! team. You can attend an event about lernu.net, about the translation system, and so forth. You are also welcome to make suggestions and ask any questions you might have about the site.

New for 2010:

  • "Flugiloj de malfacila vento" (Wings of a difficult wind) - there will be a seminar for prospective teachers! All Esperantists who are interested in teaching, and who speak the language at a relatively high level (B1-C1) are invited to attend the seminar for teachers, under the guidance of experts from ILEI. The "Flugiloj" seminars have been taking place since 2003 and are normally offered as an optional activity during Esperanto events (more details can be found in the section Teaching).
  • UEA Exams according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR): B1, B2, C1. Take advantage of the rare opportunity to be examined on your Esperanto knowledge, according to the new Common European Framework of References for languages (details about the CEFR exams can be found in Teaching).
  • The TEJO seminar "Instigi Kreemon" (Inspire Creativity) - this training for activists is aimed at inspiring a fresh outlook and encouraging the creation of new ideas or projects (more details at Inspire Creativity).
