SES 2012 will take place in Nitra, Slovakia, in the Zobor university dormitory.
Nitra (about Nitra in Wikipedia) is a charming and historical city, located only 90 km (55 mi) away from Bratislava and 50 km (30 mi) from Trnava. The distance from the Vienna airport (Schwechat) to Bratislava is about 45 km and the distance from the Budapest airport to Nitra is about 155 km (95 mi).
Participants will stay in two-, three-, and four-bed rooms in the dormitory where SES 2012 will take place. There are enough rooms for up to 360 people. Every pair of rooms has a shared toilet and shower (plus a refrigerator in the corridor). If you have a strong desire to stay alone, please indicate that on your registration form (there will be a small additional charge for that; please go to fees for more information). In addition, it is also possible to camp, if you bring your own tent.
Note: The dormitory offers "ordinary" (basic) conditions for your overnight stay, so don't expect a great deal of luxury. However, if you wish to stay in a more upscale lodging, please contact us about your preference, or else contact one of the local hotels or pensions directly to book your stay: Pension Zoborská, Pension Hoffer, Vila Aria, Club Hotel Amfiteater.
The dormitory has many study and lecture rooms, plus a large common area with a projector. A cafe also operates during the day, where you can buy small items to eat and drink. In the evening, there is a bar and gufujo [a quiet and tranquil chill-out area where alcohol is not allowed]. A sports area is available for use free of charge.
The dormitory has a wireless internet connection on the ground floor (we are trying to arrange for an internet connection in the rooms as well). In addition the facility offers a TV room, table tennis, and tennis. Near the venue there are many restaurants and bars. A beautiful park and a public swimming pool are adjacent.
