NUTRI
1. Doni al vivanta estaĵo la manĝaĵon necesan por subteni la fortojn kaj daŭrigi la vivon:

Mi devas nutri mian infanon.
Malsatulon la fabloj ne nutros.
Tro nutrata kapro fariĝas kiel apro.
De semo putra venas frukto ne nutra.
Homoj mortigas la bestojn por la celoj de sia nutrado.
Ŝi ne povis mem mamnutri sian infanon, pro tio tion faris nutristino.

2. Havigi al iu vivrimedojn:

Laboro homon nutras, sen laboro li putras.

3. Provizi ion per la necesa materialo, por ke ĝi daŭru, funkciu plu:

Nutru la fajron, se vi volas, ke daŭre estu varme.
Lampo ricevas sian nutraĵon de la oleo.

4. Helpi al la daŭro de sento, deziro aŭ intenco:

Vi nutras vian amon per espero.
Tio aldonis ankoraŭ pli da nutro al ilia ridado.
