Verbs without a subject

Explanation

In Esperanto, almost all verbs absolutely must have a subject. However, there are also some verbs that can be used without subjects. Therefore, just one of these verbs is needed to make a complete sentence. These verbs are called "verbs without subjects". Here are some sentences, in which verbs without subjects are used.

Temas ne pri li, sed pri ŝi. - It's not about him, but about her.
Pluvas, fulmas kaj tondras. - It's raining, and it's thundering and lightning.
Estas varme. - It's hot.
Tagiĝas. - Day is breaking.

But sometimes even these verbs can be used with subjects. For example:

Tiu libro temas pri amo. - That book is about love.
Ĉiuspecaj demandoj pluvis sur ŝin. - All kinds of questions rained onto her.
