En Lhasao estas la eksloĝejo de Dalai-lamao. The former residence of the Dalai Lama is in Lhasa. En 1959 Dalai-lamao devis forlasi Lhasaon kaj Tibeton pro politikaj malfacilaĵoj. In 1959 the Dalai Lama had to leave Lhasa and Tibet because of political troubles. Sed li esperas povi reveni al Lhasao iam. But he hopes to be able to return to Lhasa someday.
