I tried posting this in the "about everything else" section of the forum, but no-one replied..

This is mostly applicable to UK residents, but that won't always be the case.

I'm in a band called The Automatic, and I'm keen to meet other Esperantists, to practice or just to chat in English about how great Eo is. So, when we next tour, you can come to our gigs for free if you speak Esperanto. Just message me (in Eo please) and I'll put you on the guestlist for whichever show is convenient for you.

Obviously, this is within reason - if 200 people want to get in to one show for free, that ain't gonna happen, but somehow I don't see that being likely

You may think we suck and have zero interest, but just in case, here's where you can find out tour dates:

The Automatic

Tell all your non-Esperantist friends to come too, we need to sell some tickets!

Ĝis!

I'm too far away to apply, and with no imminent plans to visit GB again, but, best of luck to you!

When is your next tour? Do you gig around London much?

Edit: Sorry just saw the link to your tour dates :). Looking...

I just listened to the songs you've got posted. You guys are very good! "Monster" puts me in mind of some of the stuff off of the first album by Gang of Four (a band from your neck o' the woods, although maybe a bit[1] before your time).

The songs sound professionally mastered, so I assume you aren't just some amateur local band. I believe you when you say you won't be limited to just the UK in the future. I'd even say it likely won't be long before I'm hearing you on KNRK[2] here in Portland, Oregon (USA). You've got the right sound.

I'm listening to "Monster" at the moment and I'm loving it.

Maybe you guys should an EO song, with your sound it'd have to be a pretty neat song!

EDIT: Heck, I love all your preview songs. I think you guys are slowly becoming a favourite band of mine

I wrote a message before but it got lost somewhere in the ether when my computer froze and I had to restart.

I also really liked your sound, I would definitely come to a concert if I lived in the UK. If you did a song or two in Esperanto, it would be a no-brainer to get invites to some Esperanto festivals, if your band-mates agreed, that is! Certainly if you are indeed interested in translating a song, you'd find plenty of help on this forum and elsewhere.

Just read the Wikipedia page for The Automatic; no wonder I liked your stuff so much, if one of your influences is Muse! I am a huge Muse fan.

I have loads of relatives in the UK and I do make it there on occasion, so I shall try hard to attend one of your gigs next time I'm in the country.

That sounds seriously awesome, I'm really glad we have a properly famous esperantist. Where can I contact you?
