Help Pages

In the forums you can talk about various subjects and ask more experienced Esperantists about stuff. We hope that you enjoy them.

Before starting to use the forums of lernu! we recommend you read through the rules.

How to use the forums?

The forums of lernu! consist of two sections: "In Esperanto" and "In other languages". In the "In Esperanto" section posts are in Esperanto, and in the "In other languages" section - in the languages for which the forums were created. It is OK to write in additional languages, but in that case it's necessary to include the translation to the language for which the forum was created. Messages in other languages without the needed translations will be deleted.

The new messages can be added following:

  1. Choose a subject which you want to discuss. (If you want to have a forum subject in your language, but it is still not added, write about that to the .
  2. Create a new thread by using the green link "New thread", which is to the right above the table.
  3. Enter the title of the subject, your message.
  4. If you want, upload a file, which other lernu!-users will see. Click the "Browse" button and choose the file and click "Open".
  5. If you want, add a survey about a subject of interest to you. Write your question, select the type ("radio" - the users can choose only one answer to your question, "checkbox" - the users can elect several variant answers). If you want to add more than two answers, click the link "add answer".
  6. When everything is ready, click the "Preview" button. If all is well, click the "Send" button below.

It's also possible to discuss without creating new subjects. Choose a subject which interests you, and write a new message (click the green link "New message", which is above the table) or respond to someone's message with the link which is above the message.

You can subscribe to the forums via RSS if you wish. Use the icon to do that. There are more explanations about that here.
