Publications

La Ondo de EsperantoLa Ondo de Esperanto ("The Wave of Esperanto") inherited its name from a magazine of the same title, which Aleksandr Sakharov published starting in February 1909. Since its rebirth in 1991, more than 120 issues of the magazine have appeared. Each issue of La Ondo contains 20-30 (short) articles about the activities of Esperantists around the world. The extensive Tribune enables deep discussion of the problems of the Esperanto community. In each issue of "La Ondo de Esperanto", there is literature originally composed in Esperanto and translated from various languages. Thanks to the cooperation of the Eŭropa Esperanto-Unio (European Esperanto Union), the readers can read the European Bulletin every month. The magazine has many reviews about the newest literature and music in Esperanto, and linguistic and historical articles. The Mozaiko ("Mosaic") column, with quizzes, contests, jokes, and easy readings, is very popular. The columnists - Alen Kris and Komitatano Z - regularly comment on events in the world and in the Esperanto community, respectively. In November 2004, a new column was launched, in which experts present autonomous regions. North Ossetia was presented first, and Catalonia will follow soon. Many well-known Russian and non-Russian authors have contributed and currently contribute to the magazine; among them are William Auld, Osmo Buller, Renato Corsetti, Fernando de Diego, István Ertl, Paul Gubbins, Sten Johansson, Wolfgang Kirschstein, Lee Chong Yeong, Ulrich Lins, Daniel Luez, Valentin Melnikov, Julian Modest, Gonçalo Neves, Sergio Pokrovskij, Anna Ritamäki, Ziko Marcus Sikosek, Giorgio Silfer, and Walter Żelazny. "La Ondo de Esperanto" appears in Kalingrad once each month, on A4-size pages with many photos and illustrations. With the December issue, the subscribres receive a free literature supplement. "La Ondo de Esperanto" organizes the Internacia Fotokonkurso (International Photography Contest) and the literature competition Liro. Since 1998, it has organized the selection of The Esperantist of the Year. It also (co-)organizes Esperanto meetings in Russia and in Eastern Europe. The editor Aleksander Korzhenkov and the publisher Halina Gorecka often travel and lecture in various European countries.
