Juna Amiko is an attractive printed magazine that appears four times each year with 52 pages. It has a full-color cover and many pictures. It is edited and printed in Hungary, but has readers in about 50 countries. The editor has a network of regular contributors in 15 countries. All articles are carefully checked by a member of the Academy of Esperanto. Juna Amiko primarily targets those who already know the basics of Esperanto, but can't find reading material written in sufficiently easy language.
The magazine has various parts and columns, that fulfill the needs of various groups of people:
Texts in the magazine use only the 1500 most common or useful word roots. A word outside of that word list will receive a clarification. To make it easier to understand, we sometimes use hyphens to separate word roots from their suffixes or to separate compound words into their components.
Here you can read some short articles from Juna Amiko with clickable text. You can also download pieces from recent issues in PDF format. If you want to help out with writing articles, read this page.
