This text is specially adapted for learning Esperanto via the Ilja Frank method (http://www.franklang.ru).
The full text is divided into many fragments. First a fragment is shown complete with word-by-word translations and sometimes short comments or clarifications. Then the same text is shown without comments or translations. Afterwards, the next fragment in the text is shown, and so on.
In this manner you will first read some Esperanto text and, with the help of clarifications and translations, you will be able to understand its meaning. Afterwards you will again read the same text, but without the assisting comments. If you cannot remember the meaning of a word (and that is perfectly natural at the beginning), it is not necessary to search for its translation. The words used will also appear many times in other locations, so it is not worth the effort to re-read the same text. Instead, once you have read through both the commented and uncommented fragment, just continue to the next one.
In the beginning you will encounter many unrecognized words and grammatical forms, but don't worry. Little by little you will begin to understand the text without translations or clarifications. When that time comes, then you can begin to work backwards: first read the text without translations, and only afterwards read the commented text to test yourself.
Reading interesting stories, adapted in this manner, you will soon discover that you already can read well in Esperanto. And that will be wonderful!
We wish you an enjoyable reading experience!
